Conferences at Oak Spring
The Oak Spring Garden Foundation is dedicated to inspiring and facilitating scholarship and public dialogue on the history and future of plants, including the culture of gardens and landscapes and the importance of plants for human well-being. A major way we are able to facilitate such dialogue is by hosting small groups for short retreat-style collaborative meetings. We are now accepting proposals for mission-related conferences, workshops and short courses.
The Oak Spring estate is nestled in the bucolic and historic Northern Virginia piedmont. Our property is ideally suited for peaceful and productive collaboration among small groups, who have access to a variety of resources during their stay, including:
Ensuite-style overnight accommodations for up to 20.
Three optional conference/meeting spaces.
Multimedia studio for recording interviews, lectures and conversations.
Over five miles of walking trails.
To submit a proposal, complete the online form here. Submissions will be reviewed on a rolling basis. All proposals for the 2020 calendar must be submitted by August 11th, 2019. If you have any questions regarding process or eligibility, please email email@example.com.
If your proposal is accepted, The Oak Spring Garden Foundation will cover all costs of onsite accommodation and meals. We encourage participants and organizer to cover their own travel to Oak Spring and we encourage a commitment to cost-sharing in the proposal. In special circumstances Oak Spring can provide full or partial reimbursement of travel costs for participants per the guidelines outlined in our Travel Reimbursement Form, which you can download here:
