Landscape Management Plan

OSGF is starting work on a comprehensive site survey that will ultimately lead to a landscape management plan for the 263-acre estate. The goal is that the estate, already protected by Paul Mellon as part of a conservation easement, will exemplify sustainable land management practices and provide ample opportunities for horticulture, arboriculture and sustainable agriculture.

Conferences + Public Outreach

OSGF looks forward to hosting on-site workshops and conferences for established and emerging scholars and leaders working in the sciences, social sciences, humanities and the arts. A number of public outreach activities, including Wiki Edit-a-thons, are planned to reach a wider audience.

Our Convening Spaces

OSGF converted the former Broodmare Barn, once home to Paul Mellon’s winning race horses, into unique accommodation and work spaces for visiting scholars and fellows.
