Oak Spring Garden Foundation Announces 2024 Fellows

OSGF

Oak Spring Garden Foundation is pleased to announce our 2024 Fellows. These fellowships are designed to support early-career practitioners, working on new projects that focus on plants, gardens, and landscapes, and the arts and culture of them.  

Since 2018, we have offered our annual Stacy Lloyd III Fellowship for Bibliographic Study and our Eliza Moore Fellowship for Artistic Excellence, named in honor of OSGF founder Bunny Mellon’s children, to outstanding scholars and artists. Our Fellowship in Plant Science Research and our Fellowship in Plant Conservation Biology and have been awarded annually since 2021. For 2024, we have doubled the number of fellows in each discipline.

Applications for 2025 Fellowships close May 31st, 2024.


2024 Stacy Lloyd Fellowship for Bibliographic Studies

Allison Fulton

Allison is currently researching how art, print, and other objects relate to the production of scientific knowledge, and she executes this through making and doing. She is PhD candidate candidate in English at UC Davis with an emphasis in Science and Technology Studies.

Joseph Litts

Joseph is a PhD candidate candidate at Princeton University. His research is centered around art created near the Atlantic basin by Black, European, and Indigenous creators between 1680 and 1840.

2024 Eliza Moore Fellowship for Artistic Excellence

Panos Aprahamian

Panos is a filmmaker who also writes and teaches with film and video. His films have been shown at festivals in London, France, Lebanon, Armenia and other international cities.

Sara Lynne Lindsay

Sara is a mutli-media artist who uses plant and soil material from cultivated and uncultivated settings for her art. Her themes explore these materials as recorders of personal, cultural and ecological history.

2024 Plant Science Research Fellows

Liming Cai

Liming is currently a Stengl-Wyer Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of Texas Austin. As a systematic biologist, her research is focused on phylogeny and evolutionary genomics, she also has interests in insects as well.

Sierra Pérez

Sierra is a PhD candidate candiate at the University of Indiana. She is currently working with Dr. Jennifer Lau and her research interests lie in the factors which influence a plant populations resiliency to a changing climate.


2024 Plant Conservation Biology Fellows

Erin G. Eichenberger

Working in the Irwin Lab at North Carolina State University, Erin is studying plant and pollinator interactions in the Southeastern US ecosystem referred to as a Piedmont prairie. She is PhD candidate in Biology in the Applied Ecology.

Leland Werden

Leland is a restoration ecologist based in Zürich, Switzerland. His research interests are focused on developing tools to restore degraded forests in the Northeastern US, as well as Mexico, Costa Rica, and Hawai'i.
