Perspectives from Six women writers

In 2018, OSGF partnered with Hedgebrook Women Writers Retreat on Whidbey Island to plan a residency for women environmental writers, or women writers who are inspired by subjects relating to the natural world at large. 

 We received a tremendous amount of interest in this program, and ultimately six incredibly talented women were selected and invited to a residency at OSGF.  Due to complications arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, however, the writers will instead participate in a residency at Hedgebrook at a time that is safe and convenient for them. 

While we are sad not to host these talented writers on-site, we have instead developed this digital series to support these women and their work.  The writers selected for this opportunity was asked to participate in a digital blog series, and to submit a new or previously published sample of their work.  Each week for the next six weeks, we will share their work here and on our social media channels.
